No hired killers in Western Visayas - PNP official

ILOILO CITY, Nov. 29 (PNA) - C/ Supt. Cipriano E. Querol, Jr., director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO 6), contradicted alleged reports that hired killers, particularly motorcycle riding in tandem suspects are part of loosely organized crime syndicates sowing terror in the different provinces of Western Visayas.
Querol made the confirmation in the presence of Philippine National Police Chief Director General Nicanor Bartolome during the latter's recent visit in Bacolod City.
Answering queries from worried sectors seeking veracity on the allegations, Querol gave a resounding no, asserting that although motorcycles appear to be the favored get-away-vehicle by criminals, highway robberies and other forms of grab-and-run heist are carried out independently by groups not related to each other.
Moreover, Querol said the motorcycle is probably the easiest and quickest way to elude pursuers after the commission of the crime.
A number of unsolved killings and robberies has been blamed on suspects riding motorcycles in pairs. (PNA)
